Deep Sea Oil Drilling off Otago. In October 2012, the United States based Anadarko Petroleum Corporation in partnership with Australian based Origin Energy intend to start deep-sea oil-drilling in the Canterbury Basin about 60km off the coast of Dunedin. To save our coast, oceans (and climate) sign the no drilling petition at:

MMP review. This year we all get the opportunity to have a say on changes we’d like to see on the way our MMP voting system works. This review comes out of the 2011 Referendum on the Voting System, when the majority of voters chose to keep MMP as our voting system.

Citizens Initiated Referendum on Asset Sales (particularly national energy assets). This petition requires 10 % of eligible voters in New Zealand to sign it in order for us to have a referendum on asset sales. This is a formal legal process, so requires actual signatures.
